Feb 21: "The Rogues Trial"

Next up in the Department of Theatre and Dance is “The Rogues Trial.” Running Feb. 21 to March 1, this beloved Brazilian “morality” play blends Commedia, Clowning and Brazilian folktales. The production will be shown in Mandell Weiss Forum in the Jacobs Theatre District.

March 1: Graduate Open Studios

Over 25 graduate students will open their workspaces to the public for a unique, insider look at what they are researching and creating at the annual Graduate Open Studios event, to be held March 1. Discover their innovative projects in a range of media, from sculpture and performance to photography and film.

March 1: "Border Craft"

Mandeville Art Gallery will present a new group exhibition titled “Border Craft" featuring contemporary artists employing craft practices to address the geopolitical realities of borderland regions, including San Diego–Tijuana. The free reception, which includes a performance, will happen March 1.

March 4: ‘Mountains’ Film Screening and Talk

The Suraj Israni Center for Cinematic Arts presents a special screening of “Mountains.” Following, co-writer and director Monica Sorelle will be joined in conversation by actress and Black Girl Cinema founder Joy Brunson and Haitian American playwriting MFA student Phanésia Pharel.

March 13: Kyoto Prize Symposium

Join us March 13 for a special keynote talk by iconic choreographer William Forsythe—recognized for extending ballet to a dynamic contemporary art form and one of this year’s Kyoto Prize laureates in Arts and Philosophy. The free event will take place from 10-11:30 a.m.
